Hummingbirds have a very small chick, as this is the smallest bird.
The feather coloring of these species is very bright, unlike in other birds. The color is structural, not pigmented. The iridescence is created by the light that reflects off the facets on the feather surface. It is possible to see iridescence in these birds only in the broad daylight.
